Chris Halbard / Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group



Chris Halbard was appointed in March 2009 as a Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group, one of the world’s leading strategic and operational consultancy practices. With many years’ experience behind him at heading up large multi-national corporations and implementing strategic transformation strategies, Chris Halbard was able to bring a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to the table. The role of Chris Halbard is to work closely with the corporate executives at the CxO level with a view to ensuring that clients’ needs are understood and correctly addressed, and to share knowledge of operational procedures with the BCG client services team.

During his time with BCG, Chris Halbard has been responsible for a number of key projects  based around the restructuring of operations for various clients with a view to increasing profitability and decreasing costs, and on improving on the smooth and efficient running of the business in question with particular emphasis on increased customer care. One such project involved Chris Halbard spending four months on the restructuring of Telecom Italia, with specific focus on channel management, sales and delivery capability.

For Telstra  Chris Halbard spent eight months working out and actualizing a strategy for the redevelopment of growth and services to Enterprise and Government customers. This involved creating a products and services roadmap which clearly described the costing and pricing base and release schedule in tandem with increased sales and marketing focus, Chris Halbard was able to assist the company in achieving its twin goals of profit growth and improved customer service.

On-going projects in which Chris Halbard remains a key player include the assessing, improving and maintaining of the channel services capability for KPN, and the provision of a process framework which ensures the smooth running of both ICT and customer services.  Chris Halbard also oversees the team at Etisalat as they adopt an ITIL compliant services framework to support the delivery of Cloud and ICT customers across seventeen geographical locations.
